Comes in a kit consisting: ■ A 20 metre length of 1 metre wide film folded in half and wound on a spool ■ Two bottles of the adhesive ■ A slitting knife to quickly cut the dams ■ A comprehensive manual with instructions for use with hints and tips for weld purging

How it works 1 ARGWELD ® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film 9 9 3-Check that the template fits inside the pipe OK. 2-Make a small holding device and attach it to the template (the picture Purge-film-Template 3.jpg shows an HFT 1/2” pipe plug that has been dismantled and used as a holding device) 1-Make a template out of cardboard, that is just slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the pipe to be welded.

10. How it works 2 ARGWELD ® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film 4-Then place the template on the film once it has been rolled out. Cut the Film about 1” (25 mm) larger in diameter than the template” 5-Separate the two layers to make two dams from one cut. (The Film is 39”/1 mtr wide folded in half. So making dams for pipes under 18”/450 mm diameter, will provide two dams in one cut) 6-Place the template on the cut dam, fold the overlapping edges over the back of the template and stick in place. A moist finger print will provide sufficient adhesion 10

11. How it works 3 ARGWELD ® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film 11 9-Film dam in place 8-Insert the template with the first Water soluble film dam attached and peel the overlap off the template and push it onto the inside of the pipe where the adhesive has been smeared. 7-Clean the inside of the pipe to be welded, smear the surface with adhesive, where the dam is to be placed.

12. ARGWELD ® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film 12 Impenetrable Purge Barrier The weld purge material makes dams that not only produce impenetrable purge barriers but that can easily be washed away. It dissolves completely without leaving any fibres to clog up filters or leaving sensitive materials in the system

13. ARGWELD ® Water Soluble Weld Purge Film 13 Trace Certification Trace element certification can be provided to show that Argweld ® water soluble weld purge film does not contain any harmful elements and that the quantity of halides is well below the permissible levels. The film and adhesive are completely biodegradable and all packaging materials are recyclable.
