38 Vocabulary: Using Context Clues His fingers gingerly touched a group of needles that had been driven into the fleshy part of his calf. Just touching the needles made the pain more intense. It was painstaking work, slow work, and he stayed with it for over two hours. A word’s context clues are all of the other words, and the sentence that gives clues to a words meaning.
