The Titanic fun fact The 4 th pillar on the titanic was not necessary but the builders thought it would look more accomplished with 4 instead of 3 pillars

Historical Facts Originally, a lifeboat drill was scheduled to take place on board the Titanic on April 14, 1912 - the day the Titanic hit the iceberg. However, for an unknown reason, Captain Smith canceled the drill. Many believe that had the drill taken place, more lives could have been saved. From the time the lookouts sounded the alert, the officers on the bridge had only 37 seconds to react before the Titanic hit the iceberg. In that time, First Officer Murdoch ordered "hard a-starboard" (which turned the ship to port -- left). He also ordered the engine room to put the engines in reverse. The Titanic did bank left, but it wasn't quite enough. Attempts were made to identify each body found. Additional ships were also sent out to look for bodies. In all, 328 bodies were found, but 119 of these were badly damaged and thus were buried at sea.

Passengers and Crew Passengers Each room had private bath tubs Housed toward the top of the boat Crew Had to share only two bath tubs Housed near engine room

Margaret "Molly" Brown Margaret "Molly" Brown was known for being the only woman to row a life boat to safety and going back to look for survivors. She was known as “The Unsinkable Molly Brown “.Her fame as a well-known Titanic survivor helped her promote the issues she felt strongly about— the rights of workers and women, education and literacy for children, historic preservation, and commemoration of the bravery and chivalry displayed by the men aboard the Titanic. During World War I s. She was awarded the French Legion of Honor for her good citizenship including her activism and philanthropy in America.

Captain Edward Smith There are many different conflicting theories on how he died. His body was never found after the ship sank so he was listed under the dead along with about 1,500 other people. Some people say that he walked into the steering room so he could “Be British” and sink with his ship. Others say he took part in helping people board the safety boats.

More men survived then women

The women and children rule was followed

Nationality's survival percentages

Why I chose my third choice I chose nationalities because that was something I was interested in and it was something that wasn’t covered in the other two graphs.

Insights, explanations, conclusions, and comments Something that I noticed was that there was a smaller percentage of males that survived and the only reason for that is because there were so many more men then women In my opinion the ship sank because of a lot of things that went wrong like not having a drill incase the ship sank and having more life boats on board.
