Tips for Effective Mentoring Together Mentee Reciprocity: Both the mentor and the mentee need to be fully invested and committed to participation on a weekly basis. Respect Confidentiality: Information shared in these sessions stays between you Be honest with your mentor and don’t be afraid to ask questions Stay open to new ideas and new ways of learning Appreciate the time that your mentor is investing in you The Vira I. Functions of Mentoring Mentoring means different things to different people. It is important for you to be clear on what you want in this relationship. Setting SMART Mentoring Goals: Think about how you can use your mentoring sessions to prepare for your time abroad.
