ASEAN-ROK Knowledge Transfer Program on Drug Crime Supporting ASEAN members efforts to eliminate drugs in their respective countries through Korea-ASEAN cooperative fund & capacity-building assistance It has duration of 3 years and the first counterpart country in 2007 is Lao PDR Koreas Efforts for International Cooperation

Preliminary development Preliminary development 2005. 6 Request of ASEAN secretariat during ASEAN+3 SOMTC on Korean participation in drug controlling program 2006. 8 The pilot plan was introduced to ASEAN member during ASEAN+3 SOMTC and approved unanimously with support from ASEAN member 2007. 1 Building up Task Force in SPO, and performing preliminary survey in Lao PDR

Preliminary development 2007. 4 - 11 2007. 3 Opening the LOICOG(Liaison Office for Intl Cooperation in Golden Triangle Region), deploying 2 investigators Transferring drug investigation equipment such as ground vehicles, drug test kits etc. and attending Lao PDR related regional conferences

Planning for the future 2007. 12 Organizing a workshop with drug officials from ASEAN member countries Expansion of the project to other ASEAN member countries like Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam
