Intel ISEF 2011 – Educator Academy 4 High Level Goals Long term goals (3-5 years) –Implement higher level math and science courses at the high school level such as calculus, physics –Start a new fair in affiliation with San Carlos, Globe, Superior and Miami. –Increase, the number of students participating in science fairs by 10% within 3 years Short term goals (1-2 years) –Start a research based curriculum in the high school classes –Bring Students down to science center on a yearly basis –Introduce Science to the community and students by hosting a science and career event. –Allow students to visit other state Science Fairs.

Intel ISEF 2011 – Educator Academy 5 Objectives How will you know you succeeded? Please list the results you want to see –Teacher Training: TAP, PD –Buy in from board, sup., principal, teachers –Establish rules, requirements, and goals –Community Involvement-parents, business, industry, chamber of commerce –Advisory Board (i.e. school affiliation between area districts, Freeport, and Intel) –Financial Support- Community, state, grants, private donations –Schedule of events-meetings, roll outs –Mentor List –Judges for contests –Criteria for projects –Handbook for projects; Rubrics for students to know and build –Track events, data, science fair entries, budget –Responsible people: delegate planning responsibilities. –Prepare STEM research course –Science and Career Night- Students having ideas of careers and how science is related to their career interest. Companies will get list of student interest to prepare for a discussion with students. Companies may also discuss other topics.
