Batch processing and time sharing Personal computer Internet platform Application development

Summary results Full results Look for people to help you.

Zen of Internet reading “When you finish and submit the survey, you will see a thank-you screen with further instructions. Print that out to turn in along with the answers to the following questions: …”

General: Missing assignment numbers Missing staples when multiple page assignments Type your name or print it big letters (why not type it)? Handwritten answers Assignment 1: Confusion over memory vs storage and ROM vs RAM Skipped answers to questions Food for thought: what program were you executing while you completed the survey? Assignment 3: Skipped answer to question Assignment feedback

Quizzes Collectively, you know all the answers. Use the quiz blog or other means of collaborating. Do not be satisfied with memorizing answers – it is not worth the time and effort it takes.

Week 4

A couple of people accidently did too many assignments -- how did that happen?

what program were you executing while you completed the survey? What is the difference between memory and storage? Asking questions is hard

1.Several people did not turn in their Google Docs home page with their post description – read carefully. 2.Confusion on program execution – go over example. 3.Is the movie industry long tail? Explain. 4.iPad I/O devices – any sensors? Presentation/transcript confusion – use presentations Assignment feedback

Groups: How did you organize your work? No first drafts!

The answer to the following question was not in the presentation: What is the cost trend for memory, storage and CPU chips? How did you answer it?

Assignment feedback Client Server The survey, results and program are all at Surveygizmo in the storage of their server.

I feel if I ask a question it will be dumb or embarrassing.

Now let’s see.....How many sentences will get me full credit for this particular assignment?....... All joking aside, I identified with what Michael Wesch presented. Much like the opening remark above, I find that when I begin a course, I look to the syllabus and associated schedule to determine what needs to be accomplished over the semester to, get the “A”.

Last week I read “A student’s evaluation of Stanford’s massive online courses,” on our class blog. That particular article made me realize that there is a different type of student out there, which is the student who demands to be challenged and who does not want everything spelled out for him.

Turn in a printout showing your form and the spreadsheet view with three or more responses. Assignment 10 amnesty offer 7 did it 1 sick 3 no form 4 zip

Collaboration

Smooth -- continuousClick-click-click -- discrete

Would we get a better approximation if we sampled every minute. Would we get a better approximation if we could measure to the nearest 1/100 degree.

One bit per pixel Would a finer sampling grid yield a better picture with more information?

Higher resolution -- more information? Explain your answer in common sense terms.
