©2005 GS1 5 The Global Collaborative Forum Global Agenda GDSN BRG Work Groups Imaging Specification WG WG Scope Description: The VICS specification is being enhanced to more globally represent how images should be stored. Status: Resolving Comments from the Public Review Work Group Feedback Question Section from current standard: "Only when alternate views exist unique language facings require a unique language indicator (Figure 2 3 Alternate side of same product with alternate language view (in this case the English view would add the _en to the file name (00123456789123CF_fr.tif)))." Will this solution work for your Franchise? Response from GS1 China: No we would require 3 characters since there are 2 types of Chinese. Propose CHS as chinese simplified and CHC as Chinese classical (this is used in Hong Kong) Response from Imaging Specification Work Group: Group accepts changing the alternate language descriptors within the file name to be 3 characters.
