There are many sources, on is vegetable oil, sun flower oil, it is the most common source. In Alaska, they used fish oil, Since they are plentiful in fish, and another common source is soy bean oil. Biodiesel are very easy to get and renew. SOURCES

Biodiesel was pretty much crated, because nonrenewable sources will eventually run out. The oils, such as vegetable oil, could not be used by itself, you could make it into biodiesel to be used in cars and what not as a more eco friendly alternative. HOW IT WORKS

Germany is the largest biodiesel maker in the word, consuming more than 1 million metric tons (1000 kg) in 2004. When biodiesel is used, a lot of people think it smells like french fries.
