There are three realms of experiences: 1. affective( feelings)2. cognitive( thoughts) 3. physical ( action)

Initiation: given topic, students are aware of the lack of knowledge or understanding and apprehension is common Selection: problem is identified within the topic and optimism and readiness to research sets in Exploration: uncertainty in information leads to a dip in confidence Formulation: focus on topic leads to confidence Collection: when perspective on topic is formed confidence and involvement deepens Presentation: application of new knowledge completed task brings satisfaction or incomplete task brings disappointment.

Task Definition: Define task, what questions need to be answered, information needed Information Seeking: Brainstorm possible sources, select best sources Location and Access: Locate the sources, where is the information within the sources Use of Information: Read, listen, view, touch what information is useful? Take notes Synthesis: Organize your information, Decide how information will be presented Evaluation: Judge your product, Did you complete the task as required?, Did you complete all the Big 6 Steps

Project Approach: Definition
The Project Approach is defined as the information concepts and facts which are based on basic academic skills and scientific and technical skills while using the cooperative learning.

Project Approach: Phrases
Introductory phrase is based on background knowledge and what the students want to learn. Second phrase is based on investigate, fieldwork and an emphasis on core curriculum Third phrase is base on the teacher and students decision on how to celebrate what they have learned and the evaluation process.

The three models: ISP, Flip It, Big 6 are alike in the following ways: Used in the secondary school for middle grade students Include the students using a graphic organizer and a pattern to research information

Contrast of the Information Search Process
Project Approach is used in the early elementary age group ISP , Flip It, Big 6 Skills are used in the middle grades Big 6 Skill and ISP used the Bloom’s for higher level thinking ISP looked at the research and the emotional connection in the research process.
