2. The Concept is Really Nothing New Are we doing things differently or doing different things? Flipping is not a new concept; it’s a trendy term. In essence it is what John Dewey described at the turn of the 20th century: learning that is centered around the student, not the teacher; learning that allows students to show their mastery of content they way they prefer. In spite of the press, the process is flipping doesn’t require video at all.
