3. BLUEBONNET NOMINEES  Each year 20 books are nominated for the Bluebonnet Award by a committee of librarians.  Books must be published in the United States in the past three years.  Students in 3 rd -5th grades who have read five nominees may vote for their favorite.

4. BLUEBONNET RULES  Students may read Bluebonnet books independently.  Student may have books read to them by teachers, parents, siblings, or friends.  Teachers and parents may only read 5 books to a class

Bluebonnet Rules  Students must submit a written report to receive credit for books read independently.  Mrs. Hernandez and Ms. Perricone will keep records of all Bluebonnets book read.  Teachers should email Ms. Hernandez or Ms. Perricone when they have read a book to their class and every student will get credit for that title.

6. Bluebonnet Rules  You may only checkout one bluebonnet book at a time.  Bluebonnet books may not be rechecked.

BLUEBONNET BLUE REPORT EXAMPLE Title: Cinderella Main Characters: Cinderella, Stepmother, Stepsisters, Fairy Godmother Summary: Cinderella wanted to go to the Prince’s ball but the mean stepmother and stepsisters kept her too busy to get ready in time. Cinderella was crying in the garden when a fairy godmother appeared and granted her desire to go to the ball. She went to the ball and lost her shoe when she was leaving. The prince searched the kingdom and found Cinderella when the lost shoe fit her.
