3  Traveled with an Art firm Goupil & Co. at age 16 in the Hague  Suffered from anxiety and mental illness  Worked as a missionary in mining region in Belgium  Winter of 1885-1886 Van Gogh attended the art academy of Antwerp, Belgium ◦ Later dismissed by Professor

4  Moved to Paris and was inspired by the landscapes  At first Paintings were not as vivid as his later paintings ◦ When he moved more to the south, his color began to change
