Warm-Up for 2/11/2015 On the back of your literary analysis rubric, answer the following questions: 1. What is something that you think you did well in this essay? 2. What is something that you would like feedback about in your essay? 3. What is a reasonable goal for you to work on in your writing this year?

Essay Submission When your name is called, bring me your final draft packet which should include the following IN ORDER: 1. Rubric (self-evaluated with essay reflection on the back) 2. Essay Planner 3. Writer’s Checklist (Half sheet) 4. Rough Draft 5. Final Draft

Research Proposal: Introduction The rough draft of your research proposal is due February 18 th (next Wednesday). Components of your Introduction FIRST FIRST Why is this project necessary? Establish the purpose and need for your research and contribution to this topic. Why is this a problem and why should your readers care? Justify your reasoning for investigation. SECOND SECOND What is already known about your topic? What research exists around your research question? Discuss your internet research using facts, statistics, and data from your primary sources. You must discuss at least three of your research articles. THIRD THIRD What is your research question and hypothesis?

Writing A Citation Citing Electronic Source Editor, author, or compiler name (if available). Name of Site. Version number. Name of institution/organization affiliated with the site (sponsor or publisher), date of resource creation (if available). Medium of publication. Date of access. Citing Printed Source Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Medium of Publication. Warning about using electronic auto-citation websites.
