If dancers are in a combo class (jazz/tap) they will be performing twice at the recital. Please remember that there will be two shows this year, on two different days. The recital for younger kids will take place on Saturday June 13 th from approximately 10am- 1pm. The older kids recital will take place on Sunday June 14 th from approximately 5:30-8:30pm (times to be confirmed closer to the show). The dress rehearsal for all classes takes place Friday June 12 th. 2. Hype Danz Newzletter Volume 10 Issue 5 March/April 2015 HYPE DANZ EXAMINATION CLASSES This summer, Hype Danz will be offering examination classes. Examinations are for those interested in obtaining dance certification through the British Association of Teacher ’ s of Dancing. Dancers will learn a set dance syllabus according to level over 12 classes (offered for 2 weeks) and will take part in an examination judged by a certified examiner. They will receive a grading and certificate upon successful completion. Certifications can ultimately lead to a teacher ’ s diploma. Exam classes will be offered in ballet, jazz, and tap Information brochures and registration forms are available on the bulletin board. THE MAMA ’ S AND CHICKS HANDMADE AND LOCAL SPRING SHOW The Mama ’ s and Chicks Handmade and Local Spring Show is coming soon! Join Hype Danz and many other vendors for a unique shopping experience. The show will take place at the Quality Hotel in Oshawa (Harmony & Bloor) on Friday April 10th from 10am-5:00pm. Tickets and flyers are available now beside the bulletin board!! HYPE DANZ 1/2 PRICE SUMMER CLASSES This summer, Hype Danz will be offering ½ price summer dance classes. These classes will be offered in the evenings in multiple styles of dance. An information sheet and registration forms are available on the bulletin board HYPE DANZ COMPETITIVE SUMMER CLASSES Anyone wishing to take competitive dancing in the fall will be required to do Competitive Intensive Summer Sessions in July and/or August. Schedules and registration forms are available on the bulletin board. You can choose to do class once a week for 4 weeks (offered in July) or a longer class one time (offered in August, with the exception of Hip Hop which is offered in July). This is to ensure everyone in each group is learning the same skills and steps for the upcoming season and to assess if your child should be put into another group. PICTURE DAY Picture day this year will take place on Sunday May 24 th. A schedule and order form is attached to the newzletter and will be available on the bulletin board. There are also hairstyle and makeup pictures attached. Information on what tights, shoes, hair and makeup are required are listed on the schedule. Tights and shoes are available at a dance store such as Sequins Plus or Dancewear More. Order Forms are due to Margarita by Thursday May 14 th. Please note, any changes or special requests you have for the photographer must be cleared through her. Please call or email her directly if you have any questions. I am simply receiving the forms and payments on her behalf. If you do not wish to buy pictures, please let me know. Even if you do not buy pictures, please try to attend picture day so your child’s photo can be showcased on our wall!
