Key required actions/dates for TET 2015 summer programme April - May 2015 ETAs apply for & obtain Thai visa/DBS certificate/travel & medical insurance and inform BC of details ETAs seek advice on vaccinations and act accordingly April – June 2015 ETAs book flights and inform BC of details May - June 2015 ‘Starting Teaching’ online course for late applicants 25 June 2015 ETAs arrive in Thailand 26 June 2015 Orientation day in Bangkok 27 June 2015 ETAs travel to placements 29 June 2015 ETAs start placements in schools 27 August 2015 Final teaching day 28 August 2015 ETAs return to Bangkok/Farewell reception 29 August 2015 ETAs return to UK/onward travel

The role of the ETA As an ETA in Thailand, students will work with Thai teachers to: support the development of English in the classroom contribute to extra-curricular programmes and school and community life enhance Thai students’ understanding of the UK help increase student interest in studying English help Thai teachers to develop their own English language skills

What do students need to bring to the TET Programme? To join the programme, they will need to be adaptable, flexible and determined. Individuals will need to come to terms quickly with a different culture and overcome the challenges of living and working in an unfamiliar environment where English is not always widely spoken.
