1 Why did Jesus attract the crowd?
Matthew 4: 23-25 Mark 12: 35-37

2 Matthew 4: 23-25 23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and illness among the people. 24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralysed; and he healed them. 25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.

3 Mark 12: 35-37 35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, ‘Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David? 36 David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared: ‘“The Lord said to my Lord:     ‘Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies      under your feet.’” 37 David himself calls him “Lord”. How then can he be his son?’ The large crowd listened to him with delight.

4 Why did Jesus attract the crowd?
Introduction One important aspect of the Ministry of Jesus is that he attracted the crowd and they were delighted to listen to him. There are at least 3 reasons for this.

5 1. Jesus loved people and had compassion on them.
He spent time, ate and drank with them. His love was clear and practical. There is no replacement for love.

6 2. Jesus met the felt needs of people.
Materially Emotionally Spiritually

7 3. Jesus was a master of communication.
He taught in parables. He lived what he taught. He met people’s level of understanding.

8 Conclusion The example of Jesus should inspire us.
