1 BY FELIX SANTOYO Amazon Rainforest

2 Effect on Climate Change The Amazon Rainforest is being destroyed by Deforestation, Greenhouse Gases, CO2, Acid Rain, and Global Warming. In 2008 the Amazon Rainforest was reduced by 11, 968 KM2. In 1996 the Amazon reported a 34% increase in deforestation since 1992. The release of carbon in the atmosphere is affecting the Amazon’s vegetation, which the Carbon can increase Global Warming. Scientist say by 2100 the Amazon Rainforest will be unsustainable under conditions of severely reduced rainfall and increase temperatures. In 2010 the Amazon Rainforest had another drought in the areas of 1,160,000 square miles. The drought of 2010 was more severe of the one from 2005. Thousands of fish died in the Manaquiri Lake.

3 Why the Amazon Rainforest The Amazon Rainforest is the largest forest that has biodiversity and animals. Amazon Rainforest is affect by Climate Change severely. Deforestation is rising in the Amazon Rainforest, which it is loosing thousands of trees and plants. The Climate Change is also affecting the animals and their habitats. I also choose the Amazon Rainforest because it’s one of the new seven world wonders. The Amazon Rainforest is in South America, and in Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guyana. It is also part of the Amazon River. The area of the Amazon Rainforest is about 5,500,000 KM2, and 2,123,562 sq mi.

4 Animal Relationships in the Amazon Rainforest The jaguar is a specie that does its own stuff, like hunts, eat, sleeps. The jaguar doesn’t benefit from any other animals. Their prey is tapirs, deer, frogs, mice, and fish. Some animals have mutualism, commensalism, and predator prey relationships. These relationships may affect the biodiversity in the Amazon Rainforest. Several species in the Amazon Rainforest pose a threat to humans that are traveling around the area. Some of the species in the Amazon may go extinct because the predators may be hunting them down, which declines the species population.
