Who might collaborate? Other progressive organizations (Feminists, LGBTQ, ethical eating) Academic organizations Unitarian Universalists and other liberal religious organizations Groups with whom you respectfully disagree

Progressive Organizations Jointly attend a rally, a fundraiser, or a church service; i.e., Pride Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Blood drives Create a formal alliance (i.e., Forward Progressive Alliance)

Academic clubs Focus on a topic from art or social studies; i.e., History of Secularism Atheism in Literature Ancient Religion Movie Night! I.e., Life of Brian, Agora, Noah

Liberal religions are our friends! Secularism ≠ Atheism United Church of Christ (not to be confused with Church of God!) Unitarian Universalism

Unitarian Universalism Diverse and inclusive Supports marriage equality, social justice, separation of church and state Seven principles support “the free and responsible search for truth and meaning.” Basically, don’t be an @$$hole

Find people you disagree with! Hold joint meetings and swap speakers Encourage engaging, polite argument You probably shouldn’t co-sponsor public events

Organizing a collaboration Contact members you personally know Attend the other group’s meeting (and be early!!) Form a committee Brag about your collaboration on promotional material
