13. Where did most of the trade routes intersect? Most of the trading routes intersected in major cities for the time. Some were along the Mediterranean.

14. Religion was placed in the hands of African tribal/ political leaders. Most areas in Africa worshipped many different Gods and spirits. How would this lead to conflict once Africans met with different cultures? When Africans met Christians and Muslims they had difficulty in understanding how they believed in just one God. This resulted in many religious and cultural conflicts.

16. AFRICAN SLAVERY You were not born into slavery. There were opportunities to move up in status. Slavery was not based on race. Slaves were taught multiple skills. Africans wanted their slaves to be educated. You were born a slave. There was no opportunity for a slave to become free, unless they made the dangerous attempt at running away. 20. Not one land, but many. Deep water fishing, making use of the gushing mountain streams. Shellfish, used the ocean to hunt for whales, sea otters, and salmon. Adobe  warm, dry climate. Indians adjusted their way of life to the land that they lived on. Geography was the most important influence in Native American life.

Social Organization Kinship- family was the most important organizer in society. Division of Labor- assignment of different tasks by gender, age or status.
