Imagine being a child who couldn’t run with their friends, ride a bike, or swim because it could put you in the hospital Imagine being advised by your physician never to get pregnant because child birth could be fatal

What is PH? High blood pressure in the lungs. PAH is a chronic and life- changing disease that can lead to right heart failure if left untreated. Breathlessness Chest pain Dizziness Fainting Loss of energy Swelling of the arms, legs, ankles or abdomen Dry cough Raynaud’s phenomenon (chalky white or dusky blue fingers that may be painful and can sometimes be provoked by the cold)

What its Like to be a PH Patient Today Research We have come a long way with research, developing 12 new treatments in the last 20 years. Ultimately, the PH community hopes for a cure, and that is what research continues to strive for. Diagnosis PH shares many symptoms with less serious diseases, leading to misdiagnosis. On average it takes 2.8 years for a patient to be diagnosed. Treatment Treatments are expensive and often have significant side affects. There are currently no FDA approved treatments for children.
