2 A. Common Purpose 1. Rebuilding the city walls created a sense of purpose and oneness among the people of Judah. 2. When they were done, they had a celebration. b. Celebrating God’s Law 1. Ezra stood on a wooden platform in the town square to read the law 2. Men, women, and children listened from daybreak to noon, for 8 days. 3. Levites helped the people understand what was being read. 4. The people responded with Amen and worshiped the Lord.
