2. About me I am a life long learner! This is my twelfth year teaching Chemistry I did my Doctorate from India and then M.Ed. from Seattle University in Special Education I taught at Lake Washington School District for three years before I transformed into a Spartan! I have two kids and one of them is at Skyline I am super passionate about my subject and have high standards for my students and myself I am here to help students learn and grow!!! It’s a journey

Chemistry is a new subject, new language: sharp learning curve Metrics, Measurements, Lab ware, Lab instruments Periodic Table ( Element Symbols, Formulas, Compounds, Types of reactions, writing balanced equations) Atomic Structure Bond Formation Thermodynamics and Energy Predicting spontaneous and non-spontaneous reactions Kinetics and Equilibrium

4. Ready to Learn! Safe Lab attire : promotes minimum contact between skin and chemical Work shirt that covers upper torso and arms. Closed toe shoes Avoid synthetic clothes Safety goggles No dangling jewelry Lab coat optional Homework/Pre-lab Spiral notebook

5. How will the students be assessed? Participation: Students will be graded on homework (expect daily). It should not take more than 25-30 minutes (if it takes more time then it means, the student is struggling and needs to see me)..Quizzes.Tests.Labs

6. How can I help my student to be successful? Research supports reviewing helps in retention and HW plays an important role in reinforcing the newly acquired concepts.
