EARLY HUMANISM IN THE RENAISSANCE Result of new classical culture interest. Humanists looked in Greek/Roman books, coins, and other artifacts. One of the first humanist was Italian poet, Francesco Petrarch.

SCHOLARS Traveled from all over Europe. Studied art, architecture, government, and language. Read classical books and poems.

HUMANISTS Created philosophy; all people have the ability to control their own life and achieve greatness. Studied humanities; a group of subjects that focus on human life and culture.
