PwC Context 3 The MedAvail MedCenter™, is an ATM sized system that combines robotics, audio-/video conferencing, secure data networks, and proprietary pick-and-pack technology to enable a Pharmacist to consult with and dispense medication to a patient remotely. The solution provides pharmacy customer with the technology to deliver or extend service (in terms of reach and/or hours of operation) or provide consultation and delivery capability where none exists. This is a revolutionizing but potentially disruptive technology that will fundamentally transform pharma dispensing………

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Challenges and Successes Commercializing this technology is not an easy task, due to the complex nature of the Canadian and international regulatory environment in terms of security, privacy, payments and pharmacy regulations. Technology innovation could be viewed as “too new” to use, not secure enough or not reliable by potential clients/patients. MedAvail has worked with it’s customers to help them coordinate regulatory review with governments worldwide in order to prepare the necessary legislation and regulations to enable the use of MedCentres. The lack of consistency in the regulatory and legal requirements within North America and Internationally creates challenges in determining how to best comply with, and demonstrate compliance, with relevant Laws. 4
