1 EXPLORE-ACT College Readiness Test Score Report Interpretation

Learning Targets Students will understand the components of the individual Explore- ACT score report. Students will identify the strengths and the areas of growth in English, Reading, Math and Science.

Caution ACT score is one of predictors for student success in college. Colleges also look at other attributes; rigor in your course work (honors & AP classes), GPA, class rank, extra curricular involvements etc. Focus on strengths, then work on the areas that need improvement. If your scores did not meet benchmark, that does NOT mean you cannot go to college.

How does the ACT determines if you will be ready for college? College Readiness Benchmark Score Test College Course(s) EXPLORE Grade 7 EXPLORE Grade 8 The ACT Grade 11 English English Composition121318 Math Algebra161722 Reading Social Sciences141521 Science Biology192024 4 Answer the questions on the worksheet.

If you score at or above benchmark score on ACT, you have a 50% chance of earning a “B” or a 75% chance of earning a “C” in an entry level college course. Example: If you score 18 or higher on English, you have a 50% chance of getting a “B” in English 101 class in college.
