California Integrated Waste Management Board 2 AB2449-Overview Only about 5% of plastic bags are recycled. Disposed bags create problems for waterways and marine life. At-store recycling programs provide consumers with over 7000 convenient locations for recycling.

Ensure that recycling does not conflict with jurisdiction programs. Maintain records. Make reusable bags available to customers.
