D EPARTMENT OF E NERGY 6 Cyber vulnerabilities are efficiently identified, reported, and resolved and we are designing new cyber solutions New system vulnerabilities are regularly identified by vendors ORNL Systems are tested for new vulnerabilities System administrators fix or reconfigure systems to resolve vulnerabilities and we are Developing secure solutions for remote and mobile users with one time tokens secured mobile systems with Safe Passage

7 In 10 years, ORNL Cyber Security and Information Technology will... Provide a cyber-friendly open campus environment supporting thousands/annually of on-site domestic and foreign visiting scientists and guests Users Staff Cyber Security Visitors/ Guests Support a significant “national security” footprint, including best-in-nation classified facilities and computing networks Provide a mobile computing environment where local and virtual remote access are indistinguishable in ease and capability Simultaneously support Open Science and ‘closed’ National Security Provide equal world-wide virtual remote and local access to significant ORNL User Facilities Support ORNL as a significant contributor to Homeland Defense and National Security cyber initiatives and programs
