Focus Who caused the Revolution – the British or the colonists?

Recognize Bias You can figure out a speakers or writers point of view by looking at the words chosen to describe people, things, events, outcomes, policies, etc. You should especially look at adjectives (i.e., a stupid policy, this heroic action) What point of view does the text present about the causes of the American Revolution? How does the text’s point of view compare to the previous point of view discussed? (It is much more pro-American and negative towards the British) The difference between the two points of view is largely a result of differences in frame of reference, or perspective.

Close Everyone writes history from a frame of reference. Thus no history is absolute objective truth; rather, it is some historians views (or interpretations) of events, based on the study of information and evidence and general knowledge and beliefs they bring to the task.
