Start of his fame Kinsey goes to Bowdoin College in Maine Still went to church, prayed, worked for Christian organizations, Boy Scouts, and YMCA Interest in Gall Wasps Starting in 1922 Kinsey published long papers on his findings followed by two extensive books: The Gall Wasp Genus Cynips: A Study in the Origin of Species (1930) and The Origin of Higher Categories in Cynips (1936). His views on taxonomy won wide acceptance, and his 1926 textbook for undergraduates, An Introduction to Biology, was well received and went through three editions. In 1937 he was made a “starred scientist” in American Men of Science. Interested him in human sexual behaviors Success at Bowdoin > off to Grad School at Harvard

Approached the president of the university and suggested he teach a course that would prepare students for marriage by addressing sexual issues In 1938. Kinsey began a series of biology lectures in a course the university called “a marriage course”. Students were very uneducated about sex!

Children’s reaction One of his son’s denied who he was when asked by his professor One of his daughter’s told people her father was the owner of Kinsey Whiskey company, not the sex researcher Clara was unfazed: she told people she was an ordinary housewife, stay-at- home mom whose husband went to work everyday, thought to a sex research center not an office.
