Teachers and Other ‘Grown Ups’ in Year Two
2 Cedar Mrs Caffull, Mrs Pedrick (TA) and Mrs Langdon (TA) 2 Holly Miss O’Toole and Mrs Baker (TA) 2 Beech Miss Edgar, Mrs Pedrick (TA) and Miss Hales (TA) Mrs Smith and Mrs Bridge will also be supporting in Year Two during PPA time. Mrs Caffull is the Year Group Leader

Behaviour and expectations
At Branfil primary we are confident and successful learners who will develop into responsible citizens of the future. Golden Rule – At Branfil we respect ourselves, each other and our environment. Class rules – Keep hands, feet, objects and unkind words to yourself. We listen to and follow instructions from adults. Do not leave the classroom without permission. Class Rewards - Super toy, Car Moves, Golden Time, Good Citizenship Awards and Pupil of the Week. Class sanctions – 2 verbal warnings, contact parents after 3rd warning Children are encouraged to be more independent in year 2.

Home Learning Home Learning to be set on a Friday and completed by the following Wednesday. Will be either Topic based or Literacy. (In homework folders.) Guided reading books MUST be returned on the Monday. Individual reading books - parent or child comments. Online home learning for maths (If you do not have access to a computer please let us know.) Addition or Multiplication Challenge Booklets Spelling Sheets after a Big Write Books – individual, library, guided Home Learning Club takes place on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime

Havering Fronter In Year 2 the children begin to use Branfil's Virtual Learning Environment, Fronter. Fronter is an engaging, safe and secure online learning space that can be accessed at any time at home as well as in school. Fronter can support learning by providing: Links to appropriate websites. Opportunities to share the learning that takes place in school through photographs or examples of work. Opportunities to continue tasks which have begun at school. A stimulus for an activity that can take place at home. Branfil's Fronter is only accessible via a username and password which is individual to each child.

SATS & Key stage 1 English grammar, punctuation and spelling
SATS take place throughout the year and are used to identify gaps in their learning so we can support children in those areas. There will be more information on the SATS and Grammar Test at the Year 2 Curriculum evening.
