© Lavochkin Association. Purposes and main tasks of the space complex 10/2/2015 Ganymede mission 2 Main destination of the space complex, composed of two spacecraft (orbiter and lander) is carrying out of researches of Jupiter and it’s natural satellite Ganymede. The tasks of the orbiter: entrance to the orbit with the specified parameters around Ganymede; carrying out of distance researches of the satellite and it’s ambient space; mapping of the Ganymede surface, selection of landing area for the lander; transmission to the Earth of scientific data, images of the surface and telemetry data; retranslation of the data from the lander. The tasks of the lander: entrance to the orbit with the specified parameters around Ganymede; carrying out of soft landing to the surface of satellite in preliminary selected area; carrying out of contact researches of the satellite; transmission to the orbiter of scientific data, images of the surface and telemetry data (nominal channel); transmission to the Earth of scientific data, images of the surface and telemetry data (redundant channel).
