Many people have not seen a narwhal up close. What are they like?

Description A narwhal is a mammal. Narwhals have two teeth in their upper jaw. After the first year of a male narwhal’s life, its left tooth grows to be 16 feet long. They weigh about 3 to 4 thousand pounds. Females are a little smaller.

Habitat Narwhals live in the Arctic waters. They live near Greenland and Baffin Island.

Diet Narwhals eat cod, squid, and shrimp. They dive to the bottom to find food. They swallow food whole.

Survival Narwhal calves are born every three years. Killer whales and polar bears are their natural enemies. People kill narwhals for there skin.

Conclusion There are no other animals quite like a narwhal.
