1 Narwhals By: Ryan Payne
Many people have not seen a narwhal up close. What are they like?

2 Description A narwhal is a mammal. Narwhals have two teeth in their upper jaw. After the first year of a male narwhal’s life, its left tooth grows to be 16 feet long. They weigh about 3 to 4 thousand pounds. Females are a little smaller.

3 Habitat Narwhals live in the Arctic waters. They live near Greenland and Baffin Island.

4 Diet Narwhals eat cod, squid, and shrimp. They dive to the bottom to find food. They swallow food whole.

5 Survival Narwhal calves are born every three years. Killer whales and polar bears are their natural enemies. People kill narwhals for there skin.

6 Conclusion There are no other animals quite like a narwhal.
