Global Warming: Antarctica
3
Global Warming is happening all over the world.
4
Climate Control : The temperature has increased 5 Celsius over the past 50 years. Snow has decreased during the winters. Glaciers are melting at a rapid pace due to the heat. Rising temperatures cause ice shelves to break up.
5
Animal behavior: Krill has begun to decrease in the waters of Antarctica leaving the seals to starve. Polar bears have to travel long distances to find food. Penguin and birds eggs are hatching early because of early springs. The number of Killer Whales has diminished in Antarctica for lack of food.
6
Ice caps are melting at a rapid pace.
7
Environment changes: Two species of plants are now growing inland. Water levels have increased due to melting glaciers. Grass is now covering mountain sides. Less summer ice for food and habitats.
8
Water levels are increasing.
9
Prevention: Stop smoking Use cleaner fuels. Use hybrid(fuel efficient) cars. Stop pollution. Educate children on Global Warming issues.
10
