2. What are the SBAC tests? Smarter Balanced assessments are computer adaptive tests designed to measure students knowledge and abilities with the common core standards.

3. What is the format of the tests? All students will complete a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) and Performance Task (PT) for both ELA and math. CAT – Short answer, multiple choice, fill in, etc. Testing system selects questions appropriately challenging for student (i.e., based on student’s answer to previous questions) PT – Longer response that requires integration of content, skills and real world scenarios. May include research component.
