Today we are going to: Identify the arts and achievements of Ancient Egyptian civilization Explain why the achievements are significant to the development of Egyptian civilization Explain how the achievements are contributions from Ancient Egypt and have impacted the civilizations that followed.

What is this achievement? Why is this an “achievement” and what makes it significant to the development of Ancient Egyptian civilization? How is this achievement a contribution from Ancient Egypt? How has it impacted the world we live in and why is it important for us to know about it? Rameses II Obelisk at Luxor Temple, Thebes, Egypt obselisk - tall, four-sided, narrow tapering monument which ends in a pyramid-like shape at the top and were carved out of a single stone. Obelisks were prominent in the architecture of the ancient Egyptians, who placed them in pairs at the entrance of temples. The obelisk symbolized the sun god Ra, and during the brief religious reformation of Akhenaten was said to be a petrified ray of the Aten, the sundisk. It was also thought that the god existed within the structure. Obelisks were usually set up as monuments to pharaohs.

I will provide you with a graphic organizer for the stations; this is for a project grade. Before you fill out your graphic organizer, read through all materials you are provided.
