Who can decide? Authority: aspect of power that legitimizes the right to make decisions for others Legitimacy: gives leader right to make a request and obligation of subordinate to comply Zone of indifference – pt at which you accept w/ out question

Why do we follow? Leadership: influencing behavior/attitudes of others to achieve intended outcomes Transactional leadership: exchange of one thing for another (day to day workings) (ex) pay for work Transformational leadership: creative use of change to conflict for improvement Implement a new program, budgeting, hiring
