4.  Lesson Outline 1. Review Classroom Expectations (2 Mins). 2. Reflect on previous week’s goal setting (3-5 Mins). 3. One way to achieve your goal is creating a calm place to help you to perform under pressure. Sketch a picture of your calm place. Play calm music while students sketch. (Classical music, Youtube search – Mindful Meditation (2 Mins). 4. Set new goals (3-5 Mins). 5. Have students write what they believe active listening entails individually (3 Mins). SSS Lesson Three

5.  Lesson Outline 6. Discuss their ideas on active listening and create a chart. Looking for: eye contact, facing the person, tracking the person speaking, sitting up, ability to summarize what you hear, and nodding. Review SLANT. (Sitting up, listening, asking and answering questions, nodding, tracking speaking) – (3-5 Mins). 7. Watch Ferris Bueller video clip. Bueller, Bueller (2 Mins). Bueller, BuellerBueller, Bueller 8. What active listening concepts did or did not see? (Even though tracking, not really paying attention) – (3-5 Mins). 9. Role Play – Discuss with your partner what you did this weekend (5 Mins). 10.
