7 Using the Power/Backlight Button Pressing and holding the “Power/Backlight button” for several seconds will turn off the backlight. This saves power drain on the batteries. 34 Go to next topic How to Perform a Hard Reset Performing a Soft Reset NOTE: If the device fails to function normally in any way, just perform a soft reset. This can clear up most problems when running the Job Aid. A soft reset will not erase any information on the device. PRESS THE RESET BUTTON IN THE BOTTOM OF THE DEVICE WITH THE STYLUS. 35 Go back to the Beginning Screen Performing a Hard Reset WARNING: THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF THE INFORMATION ON THE PDA… 1 - While depressing Application Buttons 1 and 4. At the same time, use the stylus to push the Reset Button Hold all until the screen image fades away. Release the buttons and stylus. To verify a full reset, press the Power Button. If the PDA has been fully reset, it will not power on until the battery has been reactivated 2 – Reactivate the battery by: Connecting the PDA to AC power, or… Pressing the reset button with the stylus.
