It is the use of stem cells that can repair parts of the body that have been damaged through hereditary genes Alzheimer's, Diabetes, MS, etc. However obtaining the stem sells is the morally questionable part

It is frowned upon because the only way to get a large amount of stem cells is from a fertilized human embryo. Some find this morally wrong because once the egg is fertilized it is seen as a living thing

The good side to stem cell research is that it could provide us with the means to save millions in the future from many of the diseases that plague our society now In 20 years cancer might have a cure that will remove any chance from it coming back to the host body Or we might have a way to stop our bone density from decaying from old age

My opinion on the topic of stem cells and if its morally correct to research into is that it is necessary to cure many things in our society. However there must be another way to do it. It sounds like the doctor in the CBC video is on the verge of a major break through in stem sell research
