2 Why modernize Member/Committee Data? 2 Current data is  Not in one central collection available for distribution  Missing a number of data elements, such as  swearing in date/time  temporal (time) data  Not all elements are available in machine-readable format

3 Project Goals 3 The Member and Committee Modernization Project seeks to improve how House member and committee data is maintained, used, and distributed across the House, within the Legislative Branch, and to the public.

4 Sample Data that will be included 4  Start and end times for Congress and sessions  Member data  Name information and unique id  Current State/District; Previous State/District  Phone number(s)  Website  Election date  Swearing date/time  Leadership positions  Seniority

5 Sample data that will be included 5  Committee/Subcommittee Data  Unique ID  Complete full committee name, shortened name  Committee type  Websites (minority and majority, if applicable)  Organizational date for committee and subcommittee
