Understand Transition 3-5 Years process Change needs to be seen as a long term plan. First and most crucial factor is to achieve commitment from leaders. Start with the elders.

Building Leadership Commitment 1. Talk to key open minded influential individual leaders 2. Plan a specific session to discuss transition with your elder team. 3. Commit as a leader team to function as a group for 2-3 months on a weekly basis. 4. Begin to implement the 9 Steps For Transition.

9 Steps For Transition 1. Distribute Elders into existing classes and if possible create new ones. 2. Begin to build the familyness of the class by conducting monthly social activities.

9 Steps For Transition 3. Assign non-attending members to classes based on existing friendships. 4. Select persons in each class to facilitate pastoral care of members. 5. Choose a future leader to act in a co- leader/apprenticing role.

9 Steps For Transition 6. Appoint hospitality hosts to facilitate weekly friendship-building with seekers. 7. Conduct mid-week Bible study seeker-friendly meetings. This is a time of sharing, prayer, Bible study and planning. 8. Divide the class within 12 months. 9. Church Structural Change.

Consolidate The Transition Important that in the first year of transition that the church avoids any major project or change. More time will be demanded initially from the leaders. Leaders must make class-group life their priority. Additional structural changes need to occur on a step bases.
