3. We are Born Alive in God In His image…Genesis 1.26-27

4. Genesis 1.26-27 (Gen 1:26-27 NKJV) Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

5. Genesis 1.26-27 {27} So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

6. We are Born Alive in God In His image…Genesis 1.26-27 Much controversy over what it means to be made in the image of God… Head, hands, feet, etc? It means we are in His likeness, holy, having His Spirit within us

7. (Eccl 7:29 NKJV) Truly, this only I have found: That God made man upright, But they have sought out many schemes." Ecclesiastes 7.29

8. God forms our spirit within us… (Zec 12:1 NKJV) The burden of the word of the LORD against Israel. Thus says the LORD, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: Zechariah 12.1

9. Our spirit comes from the Father of spirits… (Heb 12:9 NKJV) Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? Hebrews 12.9

10. It is spiritual life as long as we keep it holy… We Are Born Alive in God

11. Though we are born that way, the “many schemes” man has sought out have brought about spiritual death… But Something Dies

12. (Eccl 7:29 NKJV) Truly, this only I have found: That God made man upright, But they have sought out many schemes." Ecclesiastes 7.29

13. Isaiah 59.1-2 – Sins separate us from God (The very definition of death – James 2.26) Genesis 3 – Adam and Eve were separated from the presence of God and from tree of life Something in them died! Our Sins Kill Us

14. Something in us dies when we sin: Romans 3.23; 6.23 Death is separation From God’s Spirit From God This is the source of the great void in all without God and His Spirit Our Sins Kill Us

15. It cannot be replaced by anything else! If that Spirit is not renewed in us, the Judge will pronounce eternal death… Our Sins Kill Us

16. and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, {8} in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. {9} These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 2 Thessalonians 1.7-9

17. He had life within Himself because He is God – John 1.4 “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” The Spirit Renewed in Christ

18. He IS our life: (Col 3:4 NKJV) When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. The Spirit Renewed in Christ

19. He IS THE Resurrection: (John 11:25-26 NKJV) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. {26} "And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" The Spirit Renewed in Christ

20. He is the Way back to the Father: (John 14:6 NKJV) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” The Spirit Renewed in Christ

21. Through knowledge and obedience to Him we are restored to godliness: (Col 3:10 NKJV) and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, The Spirit Renewed in Christ

22. He returns us to God and holiness: (Eph 4:24 NKJV) and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. The Spirit Renewed in Christ

23. In Christ we are born again having received the Spirit of God anew: Acts 2.38 This is His promise, and He will fulfill it if we obey. The Spirit Renewed in Christ

24. In Christ we are born again having received the Spirit of God anew: (Titus 3:5 NKJV) not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, The Spirit Renewed in Christ

25. 1.We were alive once with the Spirit of God 2.Our sins have killed us; separated us from the Holy God 3.We decay and corrupt without it 4.If not restored we will suffer eternity separated, dead 5.Renew it now in obedience 6.Allow God to live in you again and fulfill you with His promise Conclusion
