Isa.53 9 – 1 Pt.2 22 9 And they made His grave with the wicked— But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth – Isa.53 22 Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth –1 Pt.2 What does it mean?

What do we know? Whatever it means... 1) It must find fulfilment in Jesus. 2) He was not guilty of sin or deceitful in His words. 3) No deceit “found” implies some were looking for it.

C. was totally pure – Hebrew parallelism? 1 Who committed no sin… 2 Nor was deceit found in His mouth No hypocrisy. He was everything He claimed to be. Evil-doers try to cover themselves w. lies… Lk.23:1-5
