3 Promoting Social Inclusion in Practice Workshop Group 1 Case Study No 1. Peter is a 35 yr old man with a history of mental health problems with ongoing symptoms He has used emergency shelters over the years but has been quite intimidated by the environment etc. He is currently in very poor standard private rented accomm. He has refused support around moving to more supported and better quality accommodation as well as educational or occupational opportunities

4 Promoting Social Inclusion in Practice Workshop Group 2 Case Study No.2 Sheila has a long history of homelessness and mental illness with intermittent relapses. She has recently moved to accommodation with low support but has been anxious about this move. Previously anxiety and alcohol abuse have precipitated a deterioration in her mental health

5 Case Study 1.  What can services do to help Peter  What can Peter do?  Considering the above questions,what could be different with Peter in the next few months?

6 Case study 2.  What services could help Sheila with her move to more independent accommodation  What may Sheila do herself ?  How would the success of the move be measured?
