3 2008 NAPHSIS Annual Meeting Celebrating 75 Years of Excellence Orlando, FL June 1 st – 5 th, 2008 ANNUAL REPORT SURVEY RESULTS Most jurisdictions (24) have an Annual Vital Statistics Report The number of months after the end of the calendar year before the report is released ranges from 6-50 months. The median is 12 months

13 2008 NAPHSIS Annual Meeting Celebrating 75 Years of Excellence Orlando, FL June 1 st – 5 th, 2008 HOPES AND PLANS FOR THE FUTURE Hope to produce more timely provisional data because of EBR and EDR Would like to have NAPHSIS compare the NCHS standards with other agency standards (NCI, Injury Program, EPHTN, etc.) Want to develop seamless way to generate “report ready” tables and graphs Considering doing away with hard copy report Expect to print fewer copies Plan to do more topical reports Hoping STEVE will help improve timeliness Doing a user evaluation
