SCHOOL BOARD ACTION The School Board Received Recommendations from the Superintendent, COVE and the School Board Staff and Deliberated on the Decision to Move Evans Throughout Various Work Sessions in 2005 and 2006. Three Work Sessions Included Presentations on Desegration Where the Recommendation to the School Board was to Move Evans High School. The Board Voted Unanimously on June 27, 2006 at a Public Meeting to Move Evans to a New Site.

Planning and Zoning Commission The Planning and Zoning Commission Improperly made a Recommendation of Denial The Recommendation was based upon the Decision that Evans should be Rebuilt on its Current site and Dealt solely with the Needs of the School That decision and all the issues surrounding it are in the sole purview of the duly elected School Board

Comprehensive Plan Policies Policy 3.2.21.1: Public high schools and 9 th grade centers developed in conjunction with high schools shall be allowed as permitted uses in the following land use categories located in the Urban Service Area: Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Activity Center Mixed Use. Public high schools and 9 th grade centers developed in conjunction with high schools shall be allowed as special exceptions in the following land use categories located within the Urban Service Area: Low Density Residential, Low-Medium Density Residential, High Density Residential, Office, and Activity Center Residential.

Policy 5.3.2 – The School Siting Ordinance shall establish the procedures for the review and coordination of plans for school sites.
