AGENDA – DIGITAL COMPUTER A AUG. 30, 2012 (THURSDAY) Goals/Objectives To learn the home keys To type using the right fingers Average speed: at least 20 gwam Accuracy: at least 85% (If at the end of the lesson you don’t meet the target speed and accuracy, do the lesson again.)

KEYBOARD TYPES 1.Standard of full-sized keyboard - Used for a desktop, it has all the keys including special keys. 2.Laptop-size keyboard - It has fewer keys. Usually it does not have a numeric keypad. 3.Thumb-sized keyboard – It is a small external keyboard designed for devices without a built in keyboard such as PDA’s and smartphones.

STEPS 1.Click Start, All Programs, South- Western Keyboarding, and MicroType Pro. 2.Click New User. 3.Enter your full name under Name. 4.For Class ID enter MS. E. 5.Create your own password. 6.Click “A” for the Alphabetic Keyboarding. 7.Click 1 for Lesson and R1 for Review

CRITERIA FOR GRADING Typing using the correct fingers; fingers on the home keys Average speed: at least 20 gwam Accuracy: at least 85% Grade: 10 – All the 3 criteria are met. 8 – 2 criteria are met. 7 – Only 1 criterion is met. 6 – None of the criteria is met.
