Casual Friendships: Often short-term relationships Occur because people go to the same school, live in the same neighborhood, or have interests in common

Close Friendships: Often long-term relationships Forming close relationships with others who have share similar goals, values or interests and complimenting personality traits

“Box of Qualities” Activity In your notes, draw a rectangular box Inside the box, write down the qualities you look for in a friend

Problems in Friendships Some possible problems that can occur: Envy/Jealousy Cruelty Cliques : Peer Pressure narrow, exclusive group of people
