The Regional Planning Commission is an intergovernmental membership organization that provides and administers a variety of planning, community, economic development, early childhood education, and social services for Champaign County and surrounding counties. About RPC

RPC’s Mission Promote, plan, facilitate, and accomplish the improved health, safety, welfare, education, economic conditions, environment, and regional development within Champaign County in particular, and also within the greater area of East Central Illinois. All such services will be performed in the spirit of intergovernmental cooperation and with a regional vision for the maintenance and enhancement of the quality of life.

About RPC As a multi-purpose agency RPC delivers 100 different programs and services with an annual operating budget of about $19 million and a staff of approximately 180 employees.

RPC’s Organization RPC is organized into three divisions that deliver services: Head Start Social Services Planning & Community Development

Head Start Champaign County Head Start is a federally funded program that provides free comprehensive services to families with infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

Head Start - continued Each year, Champaign County Head Start provides over 500 families: Child Development and Education Services Child Health and Nutrition Services Mental Health Services Special Services (for any child with delay or disability) Services to Pregnant Mothers Family Support and Parent Education Services

Champaign County Head Start provides services at: Champaign Head Start – 809 N. Neil, Champaign Urbana Head Start – 108 E. Webber, Urbana Rantoul Head Start – 104 Nightingale Ct., Rantoul Savoy Head Start – 310 W. Church, Savoy 4 family child care homes and a child care center Head Start - continued

Social Services The Social Services division supports the well-being and quality of life for at-risk, low-income and underserved residents in multiple service areas including Champaign County.

This division is committed to providing effective and meaningful services to increase self-sufficiency of these populations and provides multiple services that address the needs of: Senior citizens Children Disabled Low-income residents Social Services - continued

Planning & Community Development Implements various programs that provide leadership, resources, and expertise for planning, community and economic development.

Most Planning & Community Development programs and services are: Contractual or are funded and governed pursuant to intergovernmental agreements. Some are funded directly by CCRPC membership. Some services are provided by contract outside Champaign County. P&CD - continued
